I came across this book while blog surfing and it really made me think about my own bedroom growing up. I wasn't an only child but since my brother was 8 years older than me we never was that close. He moved to Florida when he was 16...I was lucky to have my own room , so I was kinda the only child growing up. My room was my own special area where I would write , draw and use my imagination. My mom always knew I was in my room... kinda felt like I never left it unless I had to.
I was very blessed to have what i had compared to other children around the world. I think this book is a great wake up call for some spoiled unappreciative kids. Even those kids who are grateful, it is a good look into the lives of other children around the world... and how some barely have a mattress/couch to sleep on.
WOW!! Thanks so much for posting this!!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen it before, but I am on my way out tomorrow to find it!! How heartbreaking! Sometimes we all need a good reality check.. and so do our kids!!!
Thanks!
